BOH Tea Room
After our Processing Tour at the BOH Tea Plantation, we headed to the Tea Room for a cup of tea.
I ordered myself 2 pots. My Mom and sister tried a different type from me, so we were able to sample 3 of the different types of tea that BOH produces. I also ordered myself the Strawberry Tea Cheese Cake. Yumm. It had a very delicate flavor. I didn't bring any of the strawberry tea home for my little girls to try, because it is actually a black caffeinated tea.
The view was pretty spectacular. There were a lot of stairs to climb to get to the Tea Room is perched high up on the steep hillside over looking the plantation. It was incredibly peaceful looking out over the sunny valley through the open patio doors with a warm cup of tea.
We spent a long time selecting tea to take home from the Tea Shop. I like the stronger tea. My sister and Mom like the milder ones. I can find some of the BOH tea in my local grocery store in Singapore, but the leaves we bought at the plantation are much fresher. For my North American family the tea plantation tea is way fresher than any thing they would be buying on the other side of the planet.
I also found a bag in the Tea Shop which said it was tea and coffee. I looked it up and it is actually tea and coffee combined for one cup. Interesting. I kind of wish I had bought a bag to try. Although, there's only so much room in one carry-on suitcase, and I was prioritizing all my space for on "quality" tea.
P.S. Yes, while writing this I am drinking a cup of tea brewed from my Malaysian tea purchases. I've been ruined. Grocery store tea bags just doesn't cut right now.
