Some of the other festivities we got up to before Christmas, included:

  • Jonathan and I's Lunch at Prive. We we took our photo in front of the Marina at Keppel Bay's Christmas tree. I loved their beachy theme.

  • A little evening walk to see the Christmas Lights. We were also trying to catch a glimpse of the Christmas Star, when the planets Saturn and Jupiter's paths were so close together they looked like they overlapped. It was too cloudy for us to see them, instead we admired the lights around the Marina and spotted a few neighbours with nice Christmas light setups on their patios as we walked home.
  • Christmas baking - even though our oven died the week before Christmas. Our Rental Agent told us our new oven would arrive between 4 and 7 pm on Christmas Eve and we pointed out how much of impact that would be on Christmas Baking and our Christmas Eve feast. Our new oven arrived 4 days before Christmas. I also don't seem to have a rolling pin anymore and couldn't see one in the stores or online. I think I'll have to head to a Baking Store here, but a full pop did the job. I also never did track down Maraschino Cherries, so we had Shortbread with sprinkles.
  • Photographs and Hot Chocolate in the Mall. MsE was heard to say "This is the best lunch ever!" - hot chocolate and mermaid cake.
  • The girls loved giving gifts to their friends. We spent one late afternoon searching our condo complex high and low for the people we knew. We visited all the playgrounds, checked in every pool and then buzzed the homes of anyone we hadn't found so the girls could hand out their gifts.
  • This year I stood in the queue on Christmas Eve Day to pick up our pre-ordered pre-cooked turkey. It felt like a very Singaporean thing to do.
