We aren't in Lock-Down. Instead Singapore is calling this a Circuit Breaker. But it's still strict.

Stay Home, except to gather essentials or exercise outside.  No visiting. We are only allowed to be with our Household by law now. It's a $10,000 fine if we gather with anyone else anywhere in Singapore. This applies even in our house. Everyday seems to have a new regulation.

But it's necessary - the daily new cases count is getting a little scary. Yesterday 198 new cases; the day before (April 8) 287. Infections in dorms of foreign workers like construction crews have spiked the numbers. Singapore tests everyone with any symptoms, and isolates anyone with a positive test.

The pool has been closed for a few days now!

A few days before it happened the condo council met to decide if they should close the facilities. There were some irate people. There was a question posed on the condo Facebook page. Most people said don't close it yet. The general comment was: the Singapore government hasn't closed condo pools, so why would we? The council decided to keep the pool open. About 2 days later the government directive came to close the pools.

I'm happy to comply with the government mandate, but I would have been seriously annoyed if the condo had closed them early. Given only Essential Services are allowed to work right now, I'm not sure the pool guys are even allowed to come service the pools anyhow. They're usually here once a week.

The day they closed the pool, we went out for our way for our 10 am swim, only to arrive as the pool guy began shutting down the pool . We ran to the far pool on the other side of the complex to fit in our last swim. We were the only ones there. I'm glad we didn't dawdle that morning or we might have missed out.

Our last swim - April 6, 2020.

We can see the caution tape around the pool out our windows. It was pretty sad to see people bounce up with their bathing suits and towels the first day,  and then see them stand there slumped taking it in before they wandered away sadly. There are 10 pools here. It took most of the day to close them all. They dumped chemicals in by the scoop walking around the edges of the pool at the end - Probably some strong mosquito killer in there now.

Watching the pool guy roll out the caution tape.

We were only going to the pool in the early morning and/or late afternoon, but we are really feeling the loss of the pool. It was our last normal thing. We gave up friends and the playground a while ago, but had been hanging onto our pool time.
