We wandered up the mountain of the Cloud Forest in Garden's by the Bay.

The Cloud Forest is a greenhouse that we've been wanting to visit since the beginning of our time in Singapore. A year ago we just missed the sale for annual passes. Seeing as there is so much free stuff to see in Gardens by the Bay, we've been waiting for a good deal.

We've now got a 6 month pass to the 2 "Domes" as they call them - $20/person (less for the kids).

You're greeted cool aircon and the mist of a giant waterfall as you enter the dome and then proceed to walk gradually up the spiral pathway all the way to the very top of the waterfall. As you go you pass the different climate zones of a tall mountain in South East Asia. We found this pretty interesting as we're very unlikely to hike any real mountains in Asia.

The Falls are so much taller than this picture shows.

Tucked among the foliage were wood carved mythical and local creatures: dragons, sloths, parrots... We enjoyed spotting them. This dome was mostly green plants and trees. I spotted few flowers: a couple beautiful strands of orchids and some African Violets and similar occasionally.

As we went higher in the Dome, it got cooler and the plants and trees got shorter and smaller just like they do at high elevations. Everything was covered in moss at the top. I didn't didn't get a picture of the curving arial walkway that circles down the outside of the mountain for the way down.

The whole walk through the greenhouse is one-way, which is a bonus when we're trying to keep our distance from others during COVID times.
