The Free Spaces at Gardens at the Bay - Day 6 - June 13, 2019

Wow! I’m so impressed. I took so many photos at Gardens at the Bay and we didn’t even enter the paid conservatory spaces or the Children’s Garden. I could wander around here all day. It reminded me of Butchart Gardens in Victoria BC - with gardens based on different geographical areas, but completely tropical and free. I imagine we will come here frequently. It's about one MRT stop from where we are staying for the month and the paths make it easy to let the kids to run around.

It was actually a rainy afternoon. The girls literally danced in the rain. There are shelters through out the garden to get out of the sun/rain and also covered connected walk ways so the rain hardly affected us and made it a beautiful mild temperature. It also kept the crowds very low; I imagine the paid conservatories were a bit busier. We'll get ourselves a membership for these; if we make it there again before July 14, membership is on half price.

We sat out the rain, eating amazing Satay (chicken and beef), and also Curry with Roti at the Garden's Hawker Centre. We tried some new frozen drinks too. Watermelon was a bit boring, but we all loved SnowPurple (Red dragon fruit soursop).

Ms.I is being such a good eater. She is eating everything. Except melons - she won't touch those. If she doesn't want to eat something she will lick it for you, but then shudders in disgust. Ms.C is doing amazing and is trying everything even when ketchup's not available - it often is. Ms.E isn't going hungry, but you've got to catch her at just the right moment to get her to try something new. Knowing that she's eating her fill in the morning at the buffet helps; also our hotel offers burgers through room service.
