We had our Canadian Dinner for Thanksgiving.
There are few Canadians in Singapore, so this holiday isn't celebrated here. I couldn't track down a turkey, but after 2 stores I was able to get a small ham. Although, after the ham was bought I did see one ad for turkey dinner catering, advertising "for Canadian Thanksgiving." In a few weeks, turkeys will arrive in the stores for "American Thanksgiving."

The girls set the table before they went down to play at the playground. They picked through the tablecloths we had and agreed that sunflowers were Autumn themed enough. We couldn't find pumpkin to make pumpkin pie, so we added our one pumpkin scented candle. The girls changed into their new dresses made by Great Auntie Heather, which recently arrived in the mail.
I made dinner myself, which never happens anymore (usually our Helper does dinner). We ate baked ham, green beans, potatoes, gravy, corn nibblets and garlic bread. We were surprised that all the girls ate dinner without complaint. MsE insisted that she cut her own meat, so Jonathan gave her knife lessons.

We eat mostly Asian food now, other than burgers we still eat a lot of burgers. Mostly we have curries and rice, and noodle based dishes, and stir fries. I'd say we eat Thai, Indian, Chinese, Malaysian, and Filipino the most. Any Western Food we do eat, is usually for the kids benefit. But, our Thanksgiving Dinner did both smell and taste like Canada.
After dinner, the girls turned out all the lights, asked Jonathan to shine his phone light on them, and put on a "Thanksgiving concert." The 3 girls started out in a row, saying what they were thankful for individually and then they began dancing in circles and singing a "Thankful" song of their own making. They said they were thankful for each person in their family, calling out each person by name; oh, and thankful for Singapore too.
Then it was time for bedtime stories: Jonathan reads with Littles and I read with MsC.
Happy Thanksgiving!
