Hello Singapore - Day 1 - Saturday June 8, 2019

We finally made it to Singapore this morning. We missed our connecting flight in Hong Kong so we were delayed about 5 hours. We left Victoria at 1 pm on Thursday and arrived at our hotel at 7 am Saturday (4 pm Vancouver/Pacific Time). The kids were really great on all the planes. Ms.I was terrified on the Victoria to Vancouver flight and hid her face on Jonathan’s arm the whole time, but she was fine after that.

Leaving Victoria, BC with all our luggage: 8 carry ones, 8 checked bags

Our place for the month is huge and will be fabulous. Buffet breakfast is included so we unpacked the kids bags and then headed down for that. Then the kids and I swam in the pool while Jonathan had a short nap. It had just finished raining so the air was the perfect temperature. We woke Jonathan up to go find food; and then wandered around Fort Canning, which has elements of the old fort, jungle trails, gardens, and exhibits for Singapore’s bi-centennial. It was really fun and the Fort is just a 5 min walk from our place. We wandered around there all afternoon. We ended with a short stint at the playground there, but it was too hot to play in the sun.

On our way back Ms. C asked, “Did we arrive in Singapore today?” Hard to believe that’s true, and that Ms.C, Ms.E and I made it through the day without a nap. Ms.I had a short nap in the baby carrier. Ms.E got to ride around in the stroller all day, but Ms.C walked around everywhere today and all over the huge Hong Kong airport last night.

It’s 7 pm and the 2 littlest are asleep and I imagine the rest of us will be soon.
