Most of the kids around here have been back at school for at least a few weeks, so Ms.C strongly believes she needs to be in "school" too. We're starting slowly into our Homeschooling year, and seeing as we are located here, we are focusing on Asia. Did you know Asia has 46 countries? This is going to take a while. I wonder how many we can travel to?
After our math work, we launched into Social Studies. We talked continents and who lives where. We know people from 4 continents. We read a bit from the Asia section of our "National Geographic Kids, Little Kids First Big Book of the World," found Singapore on the world map, coloured a Singapore map and flag. We used a detailed map of Singapore to find our favorite places, and added some of them to our maps.

Now we're off to the library. There's a great section of children's literature of Singapore there. We've been reading various books by Don Bosco, including a great book called "Island of Legends". We particularly loved that there was a legend included about Sentosa Island where we go to all the time, and pirates who used that island.
We'll get to the Singapore National Museum eventually too. The first floor gallery gives an immersive walk through from the first legend of Singapore we read to modern day Singapore. I saw it with Jonathan on our Orientation Trip.
