They Were Climbing the Walls!
It's Health and Wellness Month at Jonathan's office, so they've arranged a few activities like chair massages and indoor rock climbing. Jonathan's been participating. When he went rock climbing last week, Jonathan mentioned how much his daughter would love this, so they told him to bring her along.
We agreed to bring Ms.C to Jonathan after work. We headed to the Mall where the climbing centre is. This is Singapore, so everything is in a mall.
Just 3 stops on the MRT and when we emerged Ms.E said, "I've been here before!" We were at Clarke Quay where we stayed had in a hotel for a month when we arrived in Singapore. It felt like home! I'm always shocked how easy it is to get places. There's so much to do near our house, we haven't been adventuring out on the MRT much. I'll add Fort Canning back on our list of easy things to go do.
I was interested to see how the climbing worked. The climbing centre walls are 3 stories high and go right up the middle of the mall. As you're shopping you might see someone causally repelling down - someone like Ms.C.
Ms.E was knew she was too little to climb, but she really wanted to watch. I grabbed the Littles dinner from the food court. They sat on the floor eating and watching the climbing happen. We had found a pick your topping pizza place and were able to get a pepperoni and no cheese pizza. The girls demolished it like they hadn't eaten pizza in 3 months - oh right, they hadn't.
Apparently kids usually use whatever rocks are closest, but Ms.C was very focused on following her colour line. In the picture below you can see both hands and feet are only on the pink rocks.
Ms.E really got a kick out of watching Daddy climb! I was wondering how he was going to get down as he didn't have anyone on the rope at the bottom like Ms.C had. I soon I realized this one had a self-rappelling set up.
We watched them till our pizza was done and then headed home by ourselves. For our evening, we watched Frozen on the laptop. Once Ms.I was asleep, Ms.E and I treated ourselves to ice-cream which is something we try not to do in front of our dairy-free family members.
Jonathan and Ms.C had a fun daddy-daughter night. They choose no-cheese pizza for their dinner too!
