Kids World at the Singapore Zoo

Included in admission to the Singapore Zoo is entrance to the Kids World. Here we found a carousel, petting zoo and a splash zone. With this a zoo this big, getting to this section at the far end of the park requires some serious intent.

The Gift Shop had a good selection of bathing suits and towels for sale because bathing suits were a necessity with this much water. The splash pads were up to a foot deep. There were sprinkling sprinklers and water guns. The 2 water slides had foot deep landing pools. We had our bathing suits, but bought a towel to share. There was a good changing area and even the showers were themed here.

Shared showers outside of the changing rooms.

I was glad I put on my bathing suit after one minute in the Splash Zone. I followed Ms.I up the stairs to the water slides and the a giant bucket of water crashed down over us. I didn't have to worry about Ms.I going up the stairs after that.

That's Ms.C in the pink. She loved the suspense of waiting for the bucket to fall.

No surprise supervision is lax here. No one is concerned that kids are walking up the water slide or going down 4 in a row. I stood at the bottom of the waterslide Ms.E was frequenting and made sure the 4 girls who were swimming in the 12 foot landing pad didn't drown whenever someone came down the slide and crashed into them. They liked to hang out a the very bottom of the slide. I'm sure their parents, if they even noticed, thought I was being overly dramatic about it. People usually only follow the toddlers around here. By age 3 or 4 the kids can all swim and are usually pretty independent near water.

There were no staff to the seen. There's lots of nice covered seating beside KFC but it's quite a bit back from the water's edge, so not many parents either. There's a few benches beside the waters edge.

We played until they shut the splash zone down at 5:30. No one wanted to leave. The girls ran and ran and ran. The water is a lovely temperature after being warmed in the sun all day, but even still after almost 2 hours I was feeling a bit cold. After changing and walking out of Kids World, we were amazed how hot it actually was out still. It was dinner time so we grabbed a bite to eat at the food court at the exit, Ms.I fit in a quick stroller nap, and then we caught at Grab home, which got us home ready to fall into bed.
