Ladies who Lunch

I went on my first Mommy Date since COVID.

I'd been wanting to try Tamarind Hill, so I jumped at the change when one of my friends suggested it for lunch. We left the kids at home and headed out for a ladies only lunch.

Tamarind Hill is a fancy Thai Food place set on the crest of the hill in Labrador Park. It must over look the ocean, but we couldn't see it through the trees. There are 2 different dining rooms and a large wide covered patio. It was oddly hard to find the entrance to the restaurant. It's a large old house, but it was hard to decide how to approach the house from the driveway. The only sign was at the entrance to the long driveway which winds past the house up to the car park.

The patio was closed, because there was only one other table in the whole restaurant. Evening would be lovely with all the twinkling lights and candles both inside and out.

We went with the "Set Lunch" for $41 per person (including tax). We got 4 mini-applies: green papaya salad, a spring roll cut to look like sushi, a fish cake, and a ground chicken dish (possibly basil chicken).

For the main entree, we each picked Green Chicken Curry, which came with rice.

At that point, we were so stuffed that we had forgotten lunch also came with dessert. They called it Pink Diamond, but dessert was a form of "Red Ruby." MsC loves this dessert around Singapore: Red jelly candies served with fresh coconut pieces and coconut ice cream. For Pink Diamond, the coconut pieces had the jelly around them, making them look like little jewels with a slight crunch inside, served with a rich scoop of the coconut ice cream. Like everything else, it was so good.

I finished everything.
