Today was wash day. Kitchen’s aren’t air conditioned here. There’s always a door cutting off the main living space and the kitchen. From using the convection oven to heat up Evelyn’s leftover hamburger and doing laundry, it was a sauna in there.

The kitchen with the door closed to the main living area.

It took me a while to figure out the front-loading all-in-one wash/dry combo machine in our kitchen. There were instructions talking about how many kg per load and to select A, B, or C.

I have no idea how many kg laundry weighs and there were no letters on the actual machine. And then there was the question of how much powder to use. I used about a heaping tablespoon, and everything seems clean. Hopefully no one itches, because it took about 3.5 hours to finish drying the load. I did 2 small loads back to back totaling about 1 regular sized laundry basket in total and it took 7 hours. I even took out and hung up what I could, but there’s only a small drying rack here.

The wash-dry unit and my drying rack located at the end of the galley kitchen.
