Just wanted to point out the missile in the mall.
Vivocity Mall has just about everything. These pop up booths in the middle of the mall are usually selling things, but last weekend they were advertising the Singaporean Military.
Speaking of artillery, there's some decent military stuff to check out on Sentosa, tucked away at Fort Silos. After living just across the harbour for over 4 months, I had no clue this was here until Jonathan took us girls to check it out.
We entered via the free Skywalk after taking the elevator up to the tree tops. It gives lovely views of 2 sides of Sentosa Island: on one side the harbour and on the other white sand beaches.

We found lots of examples of how Singapore was protected from the sea.

To beat the heat there are various air conditioned rooms spread across the fort depicting the early military in Singapore and the story of how Singapore was occupied by the Japanese during World War 2. There are many outdoor exhibits too, including vignettes with statuses and sound effects. MsI found some of the sound effects of guns and planes too loud. The rest of us thought they were pretty neat.
