Morning in the Park

While MsE was at her Nature Class this week, the girls and I decided to try hanging around the park. It's a bit of a trek to get all the way home and back to the pick up point.

MsE wasn't feeling super enthusiastic so we spent a little time to begin with her group. MsI took took MsE's treasure bucket and followed along behind the other kids picking up her nature treasures. She even sat in the circle and showed off the leaves she had collected. She can't join the class until she's 3, but I think she would have been happy to.

After we separated from MsE, the rest of us met up with the other kids families who had stayed in the park. They were under a nice big covered pavilion with benches and bathrooms. It was nice and cool under there. 2 hours went by pretty fast.

We had a snack and did some magic moves at the water's edge. We borrowed some of the other families' toys and books. MsE tried "planting" seeds like she'd seen the big kids doing.

Ms C did a bit of school: about one math problem, lots of reading - She's picked up the "Boxcar Children" - and a lot of drawing. She cracked open a new sketchbook and spent her time drawing portraits of the people we were sitting with. I'm really impressed with her attention to details.

We answered lots of questions about life in Canada and how we home school. I think we'll stay in the park next week too.
