A friend took me to the Shahi Maharani North Indian Restaurant and we opted for the Buffet Lunch.

Buffet is a bit different with Covid. The waiter brings out small portions of everything, one course at a time, and you can ask for seconds or more of anything. There were 4 courses, including dessert.

We started off with appetizers. There were a salad and a soup and a tray of 3 dips served with crunchy papadum, the seasoned crispy flatbread made from black gram bean flour. I skipped the Samosas because of the flour outer pastry. The second course was more substantial items like tandoori chicken and lamb kebabs. I was pretty full at this point, only to discover there was a huge third course.
The third course was 6 different curries served with 2 additional types of flat bread. I skipped the flat breads for this course, as they were made from wheat flour and ate my curries with rice. That didn't help how full I got! There was a Bengali Fish Curry, a lamb curry, a paneer curry, and others. My favorite was the Rajma Masala (red bean curry).
When we finally said we were totally done was enough food left on the table to have fed a full grown man. It felt wasteful, but we ate until we literally could not stuff another tiny piece of food into our bodies.

We went for lunch and I was so full that I didn't didn't get hungry again until dinner the next day. I was seriously that full.
