Ms.C and I saw the movie Aladdin. It was a great movie, I totally recommend it. It was listed as PG but Ms.C didn't find it scary. It followed the cartoon version of Aladdin, but had enough added to to make it interesting. The actors did a great job with the traditional songs and a few more were added in. Going to the movies was also an experience in how everything is a bit different for us in Singapore.
- It's not a Movie Theater. It's the Cinema!
- Popcorn: "Salted or Sweet?" and it came in a box. We choose salted. It was the best movie popcorn I've ever had and I'm about 95% positive there was no butter. A few pieces of sweet popcorn (caramel) had found their way into the box and they were sooooo good too.

3. You had to pick your seat in advance. And no leaving a space between seats; the system won't let you.
4. You are only allowed to enter the theater 10 minutes before the listed show time.
5. The movie theater was so dark when we entered we could barely see the stairs. Then we had to find our row and seat number in the dark. We found the row numbers, but we figured out our seats with a little bit of guess work. Later we realized the seat numbers were at the top of the seats.
6. The seats are so comfy and don't flip up. Also because it's Asia everything is made for shorter people, so at 5"3 I can touch the floor comfortably.
7. The previews were mostly telling us how to be better citizens.
8. It was all adults at a Sunday afternoon Disney movie. There was a total of 4 kids in the Cinema. I was expecting it to be packed with children. I did see on an ad that kids are half price during the week, so maybe that's why.
Watching the movie was pretty much the same, except the sense of humor was perhaps a little different. A few moments that just got a smile from me, got an eruption of laughter in the room.
I saw a few phones used, but I had turned mine right off. When I turned it off, it wouldn't work. Jonathan says it wasn't recognizing my Singapore SIM card. That left me with no internet and no mapping assistance. I was a little worried at first, but I knew I could always try to get a Taxi. We had taken the bus there and I had no idea what bus to take back. We found our original bus stop thinking maybe I could see a stop with the bus map on the other side of the street. Turns our it was a one way street - so that didn't work. I spotted a little MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) sign to and followed them to the MRT instead. I'm glad we've been using it so much. I was able to use the MRT map to find our way home; we even had to change train lines, and then walk 15 min.
