Pool Party

The night before Ms.E's pool party, we found a $21 birthday cake.  A 10:30 swim and then fruit, cake and cookies was perfect. The music from the aqua-fit class in the main pool added a fun vibe, and there was still a little bit of shade in the side pool. It's hardly ever windy in Singapore, but the nice light breeze this morning meant it took a while to get 5 candles lit. We had a hurried birthday song.

Ms.E chose this day to start swimming across the pool. She's learned the art of the front float by using her snorkel mask - Thanks Aunty Sam. We brought gems to the pool, and the girls had fun flinging them in and diving for treasure. We got about 1/2 of the gems back so we may be finding them while swimming for a while.

We had 6 kids in total (3 guests). Even with staking out 2 tables by the pool at 7:15 in the morning, this was the easiest party we've ever hosted. I took Ms.I out and decorated while she played on the playground beside the pool. I saw another birthday party setting up on the side pool on the other side, so around 7 am was the right time to be grabbing a table. We could have reserved a Barbecue pavilion and it's tables, but we really didn't need it. And I imagine they would have been hard to get right now as the Club House which is often used for parties is closed right now getting new air-conditioners. After setting up we went home, had breakfast, made up a fruit salad, sliced some watermelon, grabbed our picnic basket and swim bag, and skipped down to the pool for the party.
