I think most of my posts are about our sunny days, but we get a lot of rain in Singapore too.

Sometimes it's just a short shower or a light drizzle, but most of the time it's a real down pour. The picture above was taken around noon. Visibility was so low we couldn't see across the river.

Those white bubbles above are just the water trying to rush down into the street drains. It hadn't been raining long and you could still see across the street.

Although we don't get typhoons in Singapore because they peter out over the Philippines and similar before they get to us. We do end up with a few days of very heavy endless rain when a typhoon is in a neighbouring country, and then parts of Singapore are prone to some pretty heavy flooding then. We also get waterspouts out over the ocean, but they peter out once they hit land.

Personally I love rainy days. They're an excuse to curl up inside with books or movies. MsI personally loves rainy days, because warm puddles and umbrellas make the best walks. The temperature only falls a little; a very wet day might be about 26 C. That's cool enough for sweaters to appear here.

Puddles before we even leave our condo lobby.

MsE loves rainy days, because no one will make her go outside. Whereas MsC would rather sun every day, because rain make the playground slippery so there will be no kids there on a rainy day.

The rain doesn't even deter many kids from swimming. We won't let the kids swim if the thunder and lightening starts.
