We visited the River Safari on a rainy day. About a 1/4 of the park is uncovered and closes in the rain, but most of it is inside or under large covered walkways. The 2 river rides close in the rain too. If there's a chance of rain, I suggest going straight to the river rides and then backtracking to do the aquariums once it's raining. The air-conditioned aquariums would make a great escape if your finding the days too hot also.

Learning how the zoo keepers use toys to feed the animals.

We finally met Kai Kai and Jia Jia, the Chinese Giant Pandas, whom we've been reading about for about 6 months. My favorite was Hong though - the Red Panda from our book. He reminded me of a raccoon.

This is Kai Kai; Jia Jia tends to be camera shy.
Manatees may have been mistaken for mermaids in ancient times.
Watching the river otters above from down in the tunnel.

The River Safari has such beautiful large aquariums. I thought the manatees really did look like mermaids. Ms.I loved the river otters. It was fun to see them from the different perspectives: under the water and then chasing each other up on their river bank.

Just to solidify how much Singapore reminds me of Disney World, we saw a little Lion King themed mini parade pass by as we were leaving, complete with drums playing and characters dancing and waving away.

Goodbye River Safari; We'll be back!
