I've been running around town buying things. I'm not sure I can call these souvenirs, but they will remind us of Singapore.
I decided we were going to freeze to death in Canada, so my first job was so see if I could find sweatshirts and pants in Singapore. The girls don't fit any of the clothes they came here in, although I was able to hand a bit down to MsI.
I know it's summer in Canada, but we haven't felt temperatures below 25 C in 2 years. Usual daytime temperatures in Singapore are about 30 Celsius - 365 days a year - so I'm a little worried about Canadian summer evenings. We can't go shopping in Canada for 2 weeks as we'll all be in quarantine.
It took a while, but I was able to locate some light sweaters, summer weight sweatshirts, and medium weight pants and some jeans in Singapore. I also found 3 light weight touques, so I think we'll survive.
I also came home with more summer clothes for me and some things for the girls to do on our plane rides.

We ordered 5 full size luggage online through Lazada. At $60 each, they are exactly as big as we can take on the plane. We'll have to watch they don't go over the allowed 50 lbs. Between the five of us, we're allowed a total of 10 checked luggage (one of which will be the gate checked stroller), and five carry-ons.
At the moment we are planning to meet the full quota. To check - we have 6 full size luggage, 1 medium size, 1 carry on size, a duffel bag, and the stroller; then to carry on the plane - we have the 3 carry-on children's rolling suitcases, and the grown-ups 2 backpacks.

We also decided to buy some things for the new house in Canada. We will send these in our shipping container - things we will see in about 3 months. We have to pay Canadian duty/tax on anything we've bought recently.
Our first purchase was a vintage 80 year old hand-painted cabinet from Shanxi, Northern China.

Then we bought a painting to remind us of Singapore. It's called "In the Mood for Love. It's not the original; it's one of 20 limited edition prints. The Chinese Shophouse in the painting is located at 2 Everton Road, Singapore. When MsC saw it she instantly pointed out the phoenix and reminded us of the legends we're heard here.

Our largest purchase was 2 Persian Iranian rugs which we bought at Achakzai Trading Ltd. Muhammad called us his "repeat customers" when we walked in, even though we'd only been in his store once 4 months ago. People seem to remember us in Singapore. He promptly whisked us upstairs, where there was another huge room with the larger rugs. After we made our choices, he gave us his card and said he'd be happy to ship to Canada in future. He says we can just What's App if we want anything more and he will send us photos.

The one with the center motif from Tebriz is for our living room and the bottom one that reminds me of a Peacock from Isfahan is for our library in the basement. Basically we bought Jonathan's favorite and then my favorite. These pictures don't do them justice. They are beautiful.

I also bought this tiny rug for my kitchen at a different shop another day. It's just a couple feet long.

I also bought some Turkish bowls and plates from Arab Street for our afternoon Tea Time.

The only thing left on my list is possibly some vintage gong ji (rooster) plates. The rooster is a common table ware motif here and I've really wanted some since we came. I though we had lots of time to find some. Oh, I also need to pick up tea - lots and lots of tea. Sounds like a trip to China Town.
Not sure anything else is going to fit in our shipping container.
