Street Market in the Cameron Highlands
The Street Market was just around the corner from our hotel. We headed there on our last morning, before our drive out of the Highlands. The Market didn't look that big from the road, but it actually runs deep behind road. We had fun and shopped cheaply here.
There were lots of food vendor. Grilled meats, dumplings, hand pies and so many stalls selling just bags of cooked sweet potatoes and corn on the cob. I had to have a corn on the cob. The cobs are boiled, then brushed with butter/oil and grilled over a charcoal flame. I wish I could have one right now.
There are lot of fresh fruit and vegetables for sale here. I didn't recognize all of it. I had fun pointing out the ones I did, like diakon radish and raw peanuts. If you haven't had any strawberries yet, this is probably the cheapest place to find them.
There were cut flower stalls a plenty and also some selling live plants. Lot of trinkets, small toys and souvenirs to choose from too.
We would have bought more, but we were out of time to browse here. Our driver was on his way to take us out of the Highlands and back to the Airport. And most especially we were out room in our suitcases.
