MsC and I ran off to Universal Studios for some roller coaster riding one afternoon in October.
There are crowd control measures in place so I was surprised to get a same day reservation to Universal Studios, but we slipped one in so off we went. It was a weekday and quite quiet. We left around dinner time when the after school/work crowds began arriving. Universal is now using Face Recognition for our Annual Passes. So although we need to bring the actual passes so we can use the Express Lines, we don't have to swipe them to get in. We just slip our masks off for a second as we smile at the camera. It's a little weird.

We did all the roller coasters, including going on Universal's largest roller coaster: Battlestar Galactica Human vs Cylon. We rode the Human side which is scary. It starts off by looking like you're falling off a cliff. Then we rode the Cylon side, which goes upside down a terrifying 5 times. The 2 roller coasters are entwined so that it looks like you are racing the other roller coaster. Or sometimes it looks like you will crash into the other riders if the 2 roller coasters happen to sinc up their start times, like happened to us one of these times.
After we rode Cylon the first time, MsC made me get in line to ride it immediately again. We were upside down 10 times within 15 minutes, then we went home. I did not let her ride it a 3rd time in a row.

We rode Jurassic Park with our rain ponchos securely fastened. We it was so hot out and we stayed so dry that we debated whether we should ride it again without the ponchos, but we decided to go on the air conditioned Egyptian Mummy Ride instead.

We also did the Trick or Treating option any time we passed it. It was free treats. There would only be a few people in a socially distanced line waiting for a "Treat," handed out by masked, gloved worker with long tongues, along with the option to get your picture taken with a Universal Character.

There was a line to stand on about 6 feet in front of the characters to keep you all separate while still getting your photo. No hugs. It's a bit unnerving to turn your back on the characters to get your picture taken. I'm sure this would freak little ones out. MsC said she was worried the scary guys in black would jump out at her while she was getting her Egyptian Princess picture.
There was a photographer if you wanted to pay for photos, but they can't take your photo with your cel phone at the moment due to COVID. MsC took my photo sometimes, sometimes I took hers, and we did at least one selfie together.

We got our amusement park food in too, with MsC picking up corn dogs. I walked all the way back to the Park's Starbucks only to learn they were out of Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
How can you be out of Pumpkin Spice with 2 weeks to go to Halloween? This happened last year too. I thought I had weeks of Pumpkin Spice Lattes to go and Singapore was all out. I tried in late September, no luck then either.
Seriously, there's like a 2 week window to get a Pumpkin Spice Latte here: Oct 1 - Oct 15. I must remember this and prepare myself adequately next year.
