We've been having some rainy days in Singapore.
Our West Coast Canadian friends and family are all jealous of our rain, usually they're wishing for our sun. But they are in the midst of a very bad wild fire season.
I actually love rainy days. I could almost pretend this is the beginning of Autumn back home. In Singapore this season often has rainy afternoons and stormy nights. This means we almost always get to go to the pool in the morning, but our afternoon playground time often gets rained out.
There are 2 monsoon seasons in Singapore that make up a total of about 6 months of the year, but thundershowers are common all year. We're nearing the end of the Southwest Monsoon Season (June to September) and then we'll have a few drier months until the Northeast Monsoon Season (December to January).
MsI loves the rain. After more than year in Singapore, she's not afraid of the thunder any more. It's very loud when over head. MsI knows she's not allowed on the deck alone, but she will bring her stool and sit it just inside the open sliding glass doors so she can watch the rain. I try to leave the aircon off on rainy days, at least for most of the day. I can't sleep without aircon.
Our aircon is set to 26 C, but today outside cooler than that. Yesterday went down to 22 and I considered finding a sweater. The humidity is at 85% though, so if we do leave the aircon off all day, our clothes will be soggy and damp by the end of the day.
Today, MsI and I got out our umbrellas and went for little splash about in the rain.

MsI started out by singing, "It's raining, It's Pouring" and then she tried out dancing, puddle jumping, and spinning until she was "very dizzy" in various locations. We also collected fallen flowers and threw then off the bridges into the canal.
