Our first overnight visitor have arrived, and they're here to stay for almost a month.

It took my Mom and sister 32 hours, 3 planes, and 5 airports to get from Victoria, BC to Singapore. I figured with that kind of travel time I should go find them so I picked them up at the airport at 7 am. Their flight arrived 15 minutes early and they had no wait at customs - The Changi Airport is so efficient. I was ordering a Kopi, so didn't see them come out. They had to wait for me as I wandered the length of the Arrivals Terminal and back trying to figure out exactly where they were.

We have converted MsE and MsI's beds into bunk beds and bought a few more pillows. I think we've got enough quilts to go around.

After some tea and toast, we took them for a walk around the complex, and then along the Boardwalk to Labrador Park. Some of the comments made,

  • "Wow, is this still the same property?" I think it's 10 acres.
  • "Wow, It's hot. I can see why people don't go out in the middle of the day" - said at 10:30 am. The high was 31 C today.

After naps we went to see to see MsC perform in her end of program play of the Lion King.

Then we took the bus to the mall and ate the very Singaporean dish of Chicken Rice for dinner (well some of us did).
